Step up your pool party game with some mixed drinks that scream "summer!" Here are a few ideas for you to try at your next poolside event. As a note, you may know these drinks as different names. Feel free to rename your concoctions to reflect your friend group! Make it an inside joke or name it after the person who loves it the most. Have fun and enjoy!
Pink Bikini
For now, this first drink is called the Pink Bikini. It only requires a few ingredients to make, and it's absolutely delicious. One of the best things about summer drinks is how refreshing they are. The Pink Bikini is no exception! Simply combine raspberry (or strawberry) lemonade, coconut rum, and Amaretto Liqueur to taste. If you have several people who enjoy it, consider making a bigger batch in a pitcher over ice. For some added summer flair, toss in some fresh raspberries or strawberries!
Pink Moscato Strawberry Lemonade
You read that right, and it's as every bit as delicious as it sounds. Once again, we see the ever-popular summer fruit theme. You really can't go wrong with fruits in the summer, and lemonade is the quintessential thirst quencher. For this summer drink, you'll need pink Moscato, lemonade (regular or strawberry), strawberry vodka, frozen strawberry slices, and fresh lemon slices! As with all mixed drinks, combine the ingredients to taste. If you're making a pitcher, we suggest:
- One bottle of Pink Moscato
- 6 cups of lemonade
- ¼ cup of strawberry vodka
- And as much fruit as you'd like!
Blue Hawaiin
The Blue Hawaiian is a pool party staple! There are quite a few variations to this cult classic, mostly based around the liquor involved. Some recipes call for vodka and others do not. In this case, we'll be going through the more pina colada-esque version. You"ll need:
- A Light Rum of Your Choice
- Blue Curacao Liqueur
- Pineapple Juice
- Cream of Coconut
- Crushed Ice
- And Some Garnishes!
This drink is more of a slushy consistency thanks to the crushed ice. Simply combine all ingredients into a blender and puree until smooth. It's the perfect refresher after a hot day by the pool! Garnish with pineapple slices and maraschino cherries for bonus presentation points!
Pina Colada
We couldn't possibly create a summer drink idea list without including this famous contender! Pina Coladas are synonymous with summer vacations and long days by the water. The easiest version of Pina Coladas uses just three ingredients. More complicated variations can include six or more! Feel free to mix and match recipes to find the taste you love. Generally speaking, you'll need to get your hands on some:
- Rum
- Cream of Coconut
- Pineapple Juice
- Frozen Pineapple Chunks
- And Lime Juice
Of course, add or remove ingredients as needed and adjust the quantity to taste. We can't give you a specific recipe here because of how many variations there are online! In our opinion, Pina Coladas blended with frozen pineapple and some crushed ice is the best, because who doesn't love an adult slushie? Garnish your glass as you see fit!
